Our Favorite Red Wine Friendly Italian Restaurant Dishes
Red wine and the Italian restaurant experience go together like spaghetti and meatballs! At Bucceto’s, we have a comprehensive wine list which includes a number of reds that pair beautifully with many of our menu items. If you’re looking to have that authentic Italian restaurant experience for yourself, some of our favorite Bucceto’s dishes to enjoy with a glass of red are:
- Angel hair and tomato sauce – Delicate, flavorful, and robust, we love how our Chianti Classico pairs with our angel hair pasta with tomato sauce. The angel hair pasta is substantial, but thin enough to never overshadow the complex flavors in our house made sauce. Perfect for our vegetarian customers, it’s easy to see why this pairing is a classic!
- Spinach ravioli with tomato sauce – If you’re in the mood for something fresh and hearty, we can’t recommend our spinach ravioli with tomato sauce enough. Our favorite pairing with this dish is our deep and robust Pinot Noir. Never too much and always perfectly balanced, it’s a real palate cleanser between each bite.
Pepperoni pizza – While beer might be the classic pairing for our pepperoni pizza, we love bringing it into the Italian restaurant experience with a glass of red wine. Like our spinach ravioli with meat sauce, our pepperoni pizza pairs best with the strong, yet delicate, flavors of Pinot Noir.
- Cheese pizza – Stella Artois is one of the most common pairings for our cheese pizza; the crisp and hoppy beer cuts the fat and salt of the cheese flawlessly. However, you can enhance your flavor profiles even more when pairing with a glass of red wine. Alongside our cheese pizza, we suggest ordering a glass of Chianti Classico.
- Napoli calzone – If you’ve never tried a calzone before, there’s no better place to start! Our Napoli calzone takes the burden of decision out of your hands, giving you an ingredient combination we’re proud to have crafted. This calzone features sliced Italian ham, provolone cheese, and fresh sliced Roma tomatoes that go beautifully with our Chianti Classico.
There’s no wrong way to enjoy a red wine night at our Italian restaurant. While these are just some of our favorite pairings, we can’t wait to see what pairings you love during your next Bucceto’s visit.
